Worship & Music

O praise the Lord: O praise him in the assembly of the faithful. cf Psalm 149.1

The ministry of music is of vital importance to the life and worship at St Mark's and in connecting with the community.

The 18-voice Choir sings each week to glorify God through their music and to enrich and enhance the liturgy of the Sunday 8.00am Choral Eucharist. In addition to hymns, the Choir leads in singing the psalm, communion setting, and anthems. Visit the Choir webpage for more details.

Congregational singing and the choir are normally accompanied by the pipe organ. It was built in 1960 by E.F. Walcker & Cie., Ludwigsburg, Germany. See organ webpage for more details.

The choristers and musicians of St Mark’s enjoy using their creative talents in concerts through the year. Often, other artists contribute to enrich the variety of music of each program. The concerts are open to all, and are part of the strong musical tradition for which St Mark’s is known. See the photogallery for some past concerts.
